Donald “Don” Gene Wilson was born March 4, 1949, to Richard and Juvine (Davis) Wilson in Norman. He unexpectedly passed away on June 22, 2015, at the age of 66. Don was a lifelong member of the Cleveland County area. He graduated from Norman High in 1967. He entered the U.S. Air Force on May 22, 1968, and received an Honorable Discharge on May 19, 1972, as a sergeant. He became employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Norman right out of the military and retired in 1992 with over 20 years of service. He and Barbara Brooks were united in marriage on March 3, 1984. They made their home in Norman and later southeast of Noble. He loved his family first and foremost and enjoyed every minute with his grandchildren. He was the biggest OU football fan, fantasy football and enjoyed owning race horses. He and Barbara Brooks were united in marriage on March 3, 1984. He was the biggest OU football fan, fantasy football and enjoyed owning race horses. Don was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Bradley Tray Ingraham. Those who survive him include his wife, Barbara of the home; brother, Butch Wilson (Debbie); sister, Linda Farris (Terry); six children; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McMahans Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be at Banner Cemetery with military honors. Arranged and directed by McMahans Funeral Home.
