Richard Kear

Richard Walter Kear, of Norman, passed away on Jan. 19, 2016, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 60.

Richard Walter Kear was born on March 3, 1955, in Artesia, California. He was the son of Richard Hubert and Margaret Loyce (Conkling) Kear. His family moved to Norman in 1961, where he attended Norman Public Schools graduating from Norman High School in 1974. Following his education, he began working for Reynolds Ford as a mechanic for five years. He later began working in the construction business as co-owner of Kear Construction for 32 years. He married Shari Beth Burnett on Sept. 18, 1981, and they made Norman their home.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hubert Kear.

He is survived by his spouse, Shari Kear; his children, Shelley Kear, Kyle Kear and Melissa Troy; his mother, Margaret Kear; his siblings, Sandy McElhaney, Loyce Turner, Eddie Kear and Karen Tomes; his grandchildren, Jayden Lakin and Raeleigh Kear; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Primrose Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Mike Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Norman.
