Janet was born Sept. 23, 1955, in LaCrosse, Kan., to Wiley Curtis Fields and Mary Ann (Claybaugh) Fields. She was united in marriage to Johnnie Doyle Cox on March 11, 1978, in Norman. They were married for 35 years.

Janet graduated from Norman High School in 1974 and went on to nursing school at Moore Norman Technology Center. She graduated in 1978 as an Licensed Practical Nurse. Janet’s most enjoyable job was working at Target Super Center in Norman. She spent five “happy” years as the baker and cake decorator. She loved all the staff she worked with.

Janet’s greatest achievement was her three children and four grandsons. She was blessed with a 45-year friendship with Linda Mae Johnson, who was like her sister. Janet was very thankful for all her friends who kept in touch by letters, notes and phone calls.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.
