NORMAN — Loving son, brother, uncle and friend, Ron Kasbaum, 57, passed away April 29, 2013, at Mercy Hospital with family and friends at his bedside.

Ron’s generosity and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.

Please join us to celebrate his life at 11 a.m. Friday at John Ireland Funeral Home and chapel, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

The son of Henry Kasbaum and Shirley Durham Allen, Ron was born Feb. 6, 1956, in Norman. He attended Norman High School and also the University of Oklahoma.

Ron was a natural salesman and had an extremely successful career in the food brokerage business for Sales Force Companies, Dixon Marketing and Fleming Foods.

His intelligence, hard work and winning personality earned him many national sales awards at each company. Some of these awards included vacations to exotic locations such as Cancun, which he enjoyed thoroughly.

After battling through some health issues, his most recent job was with Arrow Wrecker, owned by Al and Vanita Muzny, where his coworkers loved him like family and will miss him dearly.

Ron’s biggest passion was OU football and there was no bigger fan or supporter. He loved tailgating and going to the games, including traveling to several away and bowl games.

Ron was a great cook, and grilling on the barbecue for family and friends was another passion, and he was a master at it. In healthier times, Ron traveled once a year to California for the Bullock family Newport Beach week, which he was an integral part of.

Ron is survived by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Brian Bullock of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; sister, Deborah Kasbaum of Norman; and sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Mike Burnett of Oklahoma City. Ron has six nieces and nephews: William, Lindsay, Shannon and Wesley Bullock of Manhattan Beach, Calif. and Carson and Devlin Burnett of Oklahoma City.

Viewing will be all day with the family receiving guests from 6 to 8 p.m.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Mercy Hospital for their care of Ron in December and April.
