NORMAN — Debra Lynn Canfield went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. Debbie was born Feb. 21, 1956, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Lee Nile and Barbara Lee Bridenstine Vickery. 

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at McMahans Funeral Home in Noble. Rev. Greg Mack will officiate.

Debbie married Terry Canfield on Aug. 1, 1987. Her children are Canada Lopez and Bryan Canfield. She graduated from Norman High School in May 1973. She worked as a waste water operator at the city of Norman.

Debbie was a strong and amazing woman. She had great faith and trust in God and placed her life in His loving care. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a woman whose heart was a wellspring overflowing with love. She loved and cherished her family and friends and was always there for each and every one of them. She never once turned her back on anyone in need. All she met quickly became acquaintances, and her abundant compassion and grace was felt by all around her. Even those who did not know her could feel her passion and love for life as it radiated from her very being. Debbie loved animals and would have taken in every stray if she had a place for them. She enjoyed doing her many crafts and hobbies, and her craft room was overflowing. Most of her crafts became gifts for those she loved. Debbie had an infectious laugh that made you laugh with her and a sweet smile that lit up the world when she was around, and her sweet spirit could not help but touch your heart. She was a very special lady and she was loved and adored by all who knew her. The world was a brighter and sweeter world while Debbie walked in it. There are truly not words in the English language to express what a wonderful person Debbie really was.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Barbara Vickrey, and her brother, Glen Vickrey.

Debra is survived by her husband, Terry of the home; one daughter, Canada Lopez of Norman; one son, Bryan Canfield of Henrietta; one sister, Lynda Johnson and husband Greg of Lexington; one brother, Wayne Vickery and wife Chris of Massachusetts; three nieces and four nephews, Jennifer Alexander, Stephen Vickrey, Michael Vickrey, Jennifer Vickrey, Melissa Hickey, Matthew Engledow and Adam Engledow; as well as many aunts and uncles. 

Interment willbe in Noble IOOF Cemetery.

Arrangements are by McMahans Funeral Home in Noble.
