Class Gives Back - 2015

Class of 69 Gives Back Project  - 2015

In our desire to 'give back' to the Norristown Area School System, our class decided to collect donated  children's reading books in conjuction with the 45th reunion, since the new kindergarten had no library.  Here is a chance to gift your favorite early reading book that had special meaning to you. Donations were taken in the form of 'New" reading books  or monetary donations.  We donated 150 new books. Thanks to Darlene Anderson and the Kawanis Club for their generosity. The books were all marked as 'Donated by the A.D. Eisenhower Class of 1969'.  We would like to sponsor future 'give back' projects to help future generations. This project was chaired by Pamela Griffing Smith.

A message from Pam . . .

A huge thanks to all of the Members of the “Class of 69 Gives Back”, for their donations.  The committee was able to purchase 150 spectacular books that will enhance the imagination and learning process of the children attending the Musselman Learning Center in Norristown. If you tap into the Times Herald web page and scroll down to the bottom of the page you can see how excited the children were as they looked at the pictures of the books.  They do not have a library but have purchased a huge cart that will help the principal and staff distribute the gift of reading.   We are hoping to continue this endeavor; and if you still wish to donate I will continue to purchase and deliver books to the school. You can send a gift card or check to Pamela Griffing Smith….  3027 Fairhill Drive, Collegeville, PA  19426.  Please include an email address so that I can acknowledge the monetary gift and let you know which book(s) have been purchased.  - Pamela
