DELL KEAN OBITUARY AND FUNERAL DETAILS

Delphine C. (Dell) Kean-Finney slipped the bonds of earth to make her journey home to the embrace of her Heavenly Father at 3:30 P.M. on June 1, 2016. Her death followed nearly twenty years of an incredibly courageous battle with multiple cancers brought upon by a rare genetic syndrome which renders its victims susceptible to all forms of soft-tissue cancer. She died at home surrounded by her loving family. She lived in West Deptford, New Jersey. Dell was 64 years old.

She was born to James Charles Anderson and Doris Mae Corrigan Anderson on June 26, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA where she grew up with her family.

Dell is survived by her husband Steve D. Finney, 75, at home and her daughter Kimberly S. Welsh, 39, also at home. Her other survivors include a sister, Paulette Louise Woodman, RN of Vineland, New Jersey, a sister Roberta Anderson, RN of Puyallup, Washington, and a sister, Lynne Meredith Weisburg of Sanford, Florida, 7 nephews and 5 nieces.

She is also survived by her husband’s two brothers, three sisters, six nephews, two nieces, four children, seven grand children, and five great grandchildren.

Dell is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Michael Louis Anderson, MD and a sister, Carol Elaine Ursani, RN.

Prior to Dell’s death, her husband lost his parents, William D. and Jean F. Finney, one brother, and a son.

Dell graduated from A D Eisenhower High School, Norristown, PA in 1969. While in high school, she was a member of choir and a majorette. She was also a member of Future Business Leaders of America.

Upon graduation, she worked as a legal secretary for several years for firms in Philadelphia and in West Chester, PA.

While in West Chester, she became a Realtor®. During her years in the real estate industry, she served as President of the Chester County Association of Realtors® in 1998 and she was recognized by Relocation Resources, Inc. as a Top Agent in the international relocation field.
After marrying her husband on December 11, 1999, they moved to Philadelphia in 2000 where she continued her real estate career for a few years. She then joined the airline industry as a gate agent for Piedmont Airlines prior to becoming a flight agent for Air Wisconsin (regional carrier for US Airways) for the last ten years of her life. She considered being a flight attendant as her proudest career accomplishment.

Because of her love of cooking, Dell was widely known for serving “Kean Kuisine” at her open houses while in real estate, and later for bringing snack trays and cookies on board to her flight crews at Air Wisconsin.

She loved cooking, fishing, camping, travelling, decorating, gardening, canning and flea markets.

Among her many, many friends, she was known as “Dellie”. She was especially known for always greeting everyone with a beautiful, friendly smile, and a warm, “How ‘ya doing, Honey?”
