Elizabeth Ann Gardner Young

I went to Millersville State College with Marilyn (Deloplaine) Manning as my roommate, graduating with an elementary education degree in 1973. One week after graduation I married James Andrew Young Jr. (Drew), class of '68. I started teaching in the Norristown Area School District at Marshall Street Elementary School as a first grade teacher that fall. I got my Masters in Education from West Chester State College with Reading Certification and became a Reading Specialist at Marshall Street Elementary School. In 1979 when Jamie was 4 months old, I became the Reading Specialist at Hancock Elementary School taking one year off in 1984 when our son, Scott, was born. This fall I will be returning to Hancock Elementary School as the Instructional Support Teacher for Literacy (formerly known as the Reading Specilaist).
