I knew Patty Ann Mcbride since Lynn Valley school. I used to call her fatty Ann as she was overweight, some years later in I think 1963 she came by to see me and to give me Hell for my past remarks. ( rightfully so ) She had lost a lot of weight and looked terrific and I told her so. She died a few years later from breast cancer I believe. How very sad, I will always remember her as such a nice person.  Lyall Lucas

I remember Pat very fondly as well as school days at Lynn Valley School.  Pat's parents and my parents were good friends and I remember visiting their home high up a steep grade from the road which was a remarkable achievment for a man with only one hand.  Much later I met Pat at a Ladies Retreat here on Vancouver Island and indeed she looked fabulous!  Breast cancer is so cruel.  Shirley Diggle (Streeter)

Pat and I were good friends in High School...sorry to hear of her death.  We had not kept in touch over the years.         Susan  (Oxby) Banas.

Patty Ann was a classmate at Lynn Valley school as well as a good friend.  We belonged to a young peoples group at St.Clement's Church.and had many wonder times together.  Patty Ann and I went to see Harry Belefonte in the old Forum at the exhibition grounds in Vancouver not realizingthat the bus service stoppedbefore the show ended . Reality quickly hit when  we started hoofing it on our long journey to get the SeyLynn bus and then the Lynn Valley bus.Fortunately as we were crossing the old second narrows bridgewe were stopped for a train which was crossing the bridge the person in the caboose asked if we would like to ride with him in the caboose. What a break because we may have missed the last bus to Lynn valley and had to walk up Mountain Highway to Kilmer Road.  I wondered if the first part of Kilmer might have referred how I would end up if that had happened.  We had many good times together .  Until cancer took her life she lived in comox ,just a few blocks from where I now live.  Her husband still lives in the house where they had so many happy years together.
