Curtis was one of the group of kids from The Highlands who attended 5 schools from grade 7 to 12. He was in Mr. Addy's grade 8 class at Sutherland. After grade 11, he got a job with CBC so didn't attend Delbrooke.
Curtis was the talented cellist in a musical family. He, his younger borther, Garth (?), a violinist, and Carol Richardson, an excellent pianist, played the musical accompaniment for Delbrooke's musical fashion show, "Annie Get Your Gown", in the spring of 1958.
I was a guest at Carol and Curtis' wedding but lost touch as our paths diverged. They were grown-ups, with jobs, a house and family, and I was still a student. It was a shock to learn of his death in a boating accident, leaving Carol and three young children.
Please correct any errors. I didn't live in BC after 1962.
I also remember the shock I felt at Curtis' death at such a young age. I last saw Carol when she was conducting a guest choir at our church. She also played the Irish harp if I remember correctly.
