Ione Newns House, a friend of Mavin since grade 7 at Sutherland, has informed us that our fellow classmate and a dear friend, Mavin Young Martell, passed away last Thursday February 12th 2015n at Richmond General Hospital. I was so sorry to hear of Mavin's passing. We went through Ridgeway together and our teachers got us confused because of the similarity in our names. I was surprised to read in her obituary that she was called "Mave" as I have been throughout my lifetime. Too bad there wasn't any information on her life in North Van or any work history. I know her family moved to Port Credit, Ontario sometime during our high school years and we lost touch shortly after. I have no idea when she returned to the west coast. Perhaps Ione has more information? I saw her for the first time in many years at the 30th reunion in 1988, but haven't had any contact with her since. She was a great friend and a lovely lady. Rest in peace Mave.
