VANDYKE, MR. STEVEN B. Norton Shores Mr. Steven B. VanDyke, age 60, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at his winter residence in Tucson, AZ. He was born in Muskegon on March 16, 1950 to Donald and Beverly (Norton) VanDyke. Steve graduated from Mona Shores High School in 1968 and received his Bachelor Degree in Business from Grand Valley State College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War serving with the Signal Corps in Germany. Steve was employed as Director of several call centers for Verizon and retired in October of 2003 after 35 years. He was formerly a very active member of the Greater Muskegon Jaycees and currently held memberships at the Mona Lake Boating Club, Polish Falcons, Muskegon Elks Lodge and AMVETS in Tucson. Steve was an avid golfer and enjoyed home remodeling and tending to his fruit trees in Tucson. He married the former Joanne "Dodi" Burdick on September 12, 1969 in Spring Lake. She survives him along with his daughters, Aime (Daniel) Brown of Norton Shores and Shelley (Scott) Zolman-Schubiner of Berkley, MI; 5 grandchildren, Connor Johnson, Spencer Brown, Evan, Lucas and Amelia Zolman; 1 brother, Thomas (Terri) VanDyke of Norton Shores and 1 sister, Judith Wilde of Muskegon.
