In 1975 Fred Cox finally married me after chasing him since the 6th Grade! I had brought along three cute little Durand boys that were part of the package. Fred has been a very good father to them. Together we have had two more boys and one daughter. Having five boys has been great but to have a wonderful daughter is very special. They are all good kids, have nice families, and good jobs. All but our son Ryan live within 10 miles to us. Ryan is a designer for Macy's Dept store in N.Y.. We have eight grandchildren that all live close by except one. They keep us busy going on trips, attending various activities, or baby sitting. Last week "Good Old Grandma" went tubing down the Ogden River many times with a grandchild attached in some way. And of course grandma has to have a seasonal Lagoon pass to ride every ride and lots of motions pills on hand. Even "Wicked". What we don't do for our grandchildren, right? Fred built us the nice home that we live in in good old Hooper. He can do anything he sets his mind to if he wants to. A real handy man and still can be a challenge. We own my parents 20 acre farm here in Hooper. Fred always has horses, and various other animals so he grows hay to feed them. He has lots of farms pets around. He is a good father and husband. We have been on several very nice trips both near and far throughout the years. We both retired from HAFB 2007. I love to decorate our home with lots of antiques and fun things. My very favorite hobby is Oil Painting which includes: old houses/barns/roses, etc. I also like stained glass and have made some windows for our home. I am quite comfortable with building tools and am not afraid to take on numerous projects. Such as bird houses, remodel a room, etc. Sometimes I take on too many things but it keeps me thinking and I guess that's OK. I am blessed to have good health so far and always have a project. For many years at Halloween time I turn into a witch and show up in lots of places. You might even see me at Dinosaur Park. Just look for the ugly one with a big tall hat. What a reputation! Right now I am making dried arrangement's to put in a store. As long as the flowers/weeds keep growing, I can buy paint, and the D. I. is open I am in business. Sometimes it is hard to make something out of NOTHING but the challenge is fun. I have always been very active in our church...it is a good way of life and works for me.

School Story:

I loved my school days. It was great having friends that were always so much fun. It sure would have made my life a little easier if I would have known that in the end I would get Fred. Why did I always go for the challenging boys? What a good life we had then. It was so fun to come home and find scratched in the dirt a note from Mike DeBloois and Jack Sarlo (8th Grade) that read: "We came to see you". I loved those guys. They were so fun. And that charming Nick Jones. Boy, did I have a crush on him in junior high. Who didn't? And Kent Lasater? Seems like Rod Cragen could always get gas in a car so he was the selected driver. I liked to sit with Dean Stokes on the bus...he was a good listener and friend. And Dennis Stimpson sure was a good dancer. The Pleasant View boys would back their dad's car up clear from Pleasant View to Hooper (8th Grade) thinking it wouldn't put miles on the car. Did that really work? And wasn't Heber Fuller the best? Thanks for helping me pass in Mr. Ellis's Algebra class in the 9th Grade Heber. I went to the Junior Prom with Fred and had to sit in the back seat because my formal (125 yards) poked up too much. I even rode in the trunk when Fred was with another date once. It wasn't worth it. Was I crazy of what? And Chris you were always so fun. And Ron Carroll had such a neat MG car and always dressed so nice. And that cute grin Dave Parkinson always flashed. And all my girlfriends...sure miss you all. Thanks for sharing your clothes with me Linda Jensen on special occasions. And my old "Gang".friends.. I guess I belong to a gang too, ha. And all the other friends along the way. The Hayrides, the house parties, A&W, Kay's Noodle Parlor, Mason's Drive In, Burger Bar. Wasn't Miss Littlefield an interesting teacher? She taught cooking. She use to tell our table that we were little rascals. And we were. Mr. Carver sure liked to put weird, dissected animal parts in our lockers. He would probably be sued for that trick now days. Could cause a heart attack don't you know? Mr. Musgrave (Drivers Ed) would come and pick me up with other inexperienced drivers to teach us how to drive. We would drive up Weber Canyon. I would be the last to drive the car while Mr. Musgrave kicked back and told me to drive home. I had been driving tractors/trucks since the 6th Grade. It was nice to be trusted....Fred has told me that Bert Cook, (Weber County Sherrif at that time) would catch him and his buddies with beer while driving around at night. Would take the beer and tell them to go on home. Sometimes twice in one night. No DUI???....no money put out by folks. It was nice to have the law acting like your dad. I think Fred was sometimes a "Bad Boy". Thank goodness he has mellowed out. Why did we like that kind? I was taught the value of work and it has been a God sent at times when I get down and out about life. Don't take a pill...get to work! Good parents that were always there for me. It"s fun to reminisce huh? Would like to hear Merle Butler sing again. I always thought she would be a movie star. We stopped and chatted with Dee and Elaine Harmston in Manti a few years ago. We have all made different marks in our lives. And wonderful Marsha Ferrin..whom you can always count on and on and on. I guess as long as we are happy why not? If I have offended anyone along the way please forgive me. Thanks to all of you who have touched my heart and my life. Thanks for the fun times, for accepting me for what I am and for being my good friends. I love you all Class of 59 and thanks for the memories.
