Ray Nelson and I were best friends in Burch Creek school and South Jr. High. We would actually entertain during the lunch hour in our classroom for those students who would come. Bruce May, Ray Nelson and I had lots of fun together. I miss them both. I wish I could have talked to them before they passed away. Gary Palmer
Ray was the original "straight man". He rode Mr. Fernelius' bus to Weber his Sophomore year with most of the kids from South Ogden. He had a dry, dry sense of humor, and when he would crack a joke, it was always with an absolute deadpan face. Sometimes you had to really think about what he said, before you caught the humor. Our class will miss him at the reunion.
