I courted Alice throughout high school at Weber High. We got married in 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. I graduated in 1963 from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in German, with minors in music, English, Education. I tought German for over 40 years, all but three of those years at Weber High, at the old Weber High on 12th Street and Washington Blvd, and many years at the newer Weber High in Pleasant View. I was very successful in my teaching career and loved it very much. In 1972 I began organizing and escorting travel groups to Europe every June. After about six years of doing that I expanded to taking groups to wonderful locations all over the world, to every continent except Antartica. I have continued taking groups on tours each year since 1972 without interruption. I still do the group tours with special group experiences coming up on Sept 8, 2019 at which time I will be escorting an adult group for a 17-day trip to India.

Alice and I have enjoyed a wonderful 56 years together, and we have great children who support us in all we do. We have lived all but the first year in Taylor where Alice was born and raised. We have both been very active in the LDS Church. Alice has been the ward and stake organist for all these years, and she has also taught some in primary. I have been ward chorister for some 36 years, and I have been the stake clerk for 5 stake presidents--now with the fifth one. I have held this position for nearly 43 years -- just released. I loved it very much. I have expanded my music from the clarinet and saxophone that I was so involved with during high school and college to now playing the piano and doing some composing.
Music has become very, very important to me as a mental and emotional therapy to help with the rigors of everyday life. So far, Alice and I are enjoying excellent health. I exercise everyday for an hour and a half to two hours and try to eat sensibly. Alice has such a natural high metabolism and is so active with the children and grandchildren that she gets plenty of exercise without purposely going out to do it everyday as I have to.
Life has been very good since Weber High graduation.
