What have you been up to since `89?
Since 1989 - let's see. Graduated College, moved to St. Louis, got a job as a designer - quit, got a job - got fired, got a job - quit... got a job - quit, drove to California, came back, started my own company (Project 13) with 2 business partners. Along the way (during job #2) I met my now wife while working on a photo shoot (she is a producer). We bought the apartment building I was living in - completely renovated it, got married, sold our cars, stored a bunch of stuff in our basement, rented out the building and moved to New York. And here I sit.
I/We love to travel and have been fortunate enough to get out a little - places like Stockholm, Paris, Prague, Budapest... Before moving to NY took a number of road trips across the county - from camping in Wyoming to skiing in Colorado and hitting the beaches in North Carolina. Denise and I are both divers and have been diving in Cozumel and Belize. Doing our best to learn this part of the country and settle into life in a city with 8 million people. I walk to my office every day which located in the headquarters of a fine art dealer - they have large format serigraph shop on the floor above me and a full framing department in the basement. It's cool to work in a building where pretty much everyone is an artist of some sort and everyone is very nice.
New York is fast, loud, smelly, stupid expensive and can be stressful but where else can you see Ellis Island from your roof and walk around the corner and get great Thai food or Sushi! Coney Island is a bike ride away and I regularly walk and ride across the Brooklyn Bridge (always saying hello to Lady Liberty), ride in Central Park and up the Hudson River. It has amazing museums, great food and music... I can go on for ever about how wonderful it is living here but don't get me wrong, I often long for the Ft. Gibson lake, wide open fields and my motorcycle!
No kids yet but kicking it around - we'll see. I get back to OK a few times a year to see my mom and dad who are now down in Checotah and doing very well. That's it in a nutshell - looking forward to seeing everyone!
