Shawn Derrick McGertt was born March 28, 1967 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Charlie and Mary Ellen (Cheek) McGertt and died at his Okmulgee home at the age of 41.  Shawn was a loving father who embraced life with a care free attitude, a generous heart and a warm smile that could light up a room.  Shawn was also an avid sports fan, who had a big passion for the Atlanta Braves.  He also enjoyed activities that involved his children. Shawn was the kind of person that never met a stranger and his heart was as big as his smile.  He will be surely missed by his friends and family.
