Peggy Ann Owens, Age 69, passed away October 20th at Rideout Hospital surrounded by her family. Born March 24, 1942 in Marysville, CA. Peggy met her husband, Kenneth Owens in 1956 when he was working for her step-dad Elmer Hunt and they were later married on June 16th 1960. Peggy moved out of the Olivehurst area for several years to follow Ken who went into the army. Peggy became a mother in 1968 and returned to Olivehurst to live and raise a family in 1969.

Peggy was always full of life and was a fun loving person. She was known to many as the "Turtle Lady", known to some as the "Candy Lady", but known to most as "Grandma Peggy". Peggy spent her life touching other peoples lives in a positive way. When Facebook hit the internet, Peggy spent hours chatting with old friends, relatives, and her granddaughters. Peggy was the person that kept the family and friends in contact with each other. Peggy touched many people's lives with her fun loving and generous and generous personality and will be missed greatly.

Peggy is survived by her husband Kenneth Owens, Olivehurst; son Kenneth Owens, Jr. (Angie), Rathdrum, Idaho; amd two granddaughters Kacie and Brianna Owewns. Peggy was preceded in death by her mother and father Viola and Junior Nelson and brother Harold Nelson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel with Pastor Wayne Vincent of the Loma Rica Community Church, Loma Rica Officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
