Hello everyone…

It's almost 10:00 P.M. here in Germany, when I decided to look at our website. First, I posted the new officials of our class, then I started watching the video "South Pacific" presentation of Tony and Dellie. As always, it's a joy watching them perform.

Mellie Medina Kausal, our new USA chairman has been gathering our classmates in the east coast and had several meetings with them already.

So far the following composed the east coast group:

1. Mellie Medina Kausal
2. Gene Pulmano
3. Zennie Aguilar Ulibas
4. Gloria Guanga Angeles
5. Belen Labuzon Lejarde
6. Camilo Bayba
7. Myrna Fernandez Cayron
8. Sally Gregorio
9.  Pacifico Jorge
10. Lilian Ela Garcia (our #1 jet setter – strike anywhere – maasahan talaga!)

The group had another meeting last weekend and sinamahan siyempre ng lakwatsa, with Sally "Bot" Gregorio as the driver, tourist guide, entertainer... name it and she could be it. Right Bot???

I've been looking for them since Friday, October 8 and guess what? Natawagan ko na lahat halos ng inaakala kung makaka-trace sa kanila, but they were so elusive. Finally, today I found them at Mellie's abode. They're helping Lilian pack the blue crabs (Yum! Yum! Yum!) that she'll take home to Chicago.

It's so cold here in Bavaria, Germany, pero ng magumpisa na kaming magkuwentohan na apat: Lil, Mellie, Bot and I, pinagpawisan ako sa katatawa... and I was not even there with them.

Ituloy lang natin ang ligaya mga kapatid... until we all meet again.

May God bless us all... take care everyone!

Love,

Mina

Dear Gene, Roger (Hidalgo) and all...

I think the Message Forum is a better venue for our communication, so I'll continue our written chats here.

I am now very excited to open our web site knowing that I'll read something from you and hopefully more from our other classmates.  Our website has many features that we still need to learn, so that we could maximize the fun of what we could share by using them.

I'm thinking of sharing pictures, videos, probably our favorite music of yesteryears, etc.  How fun is that?!?! I hope that our computer savvy classmates like Eden, Hermie, Peto, et al. could help us with these.

For me, it's also exciting that we are able to share our children and grandchildren and what we are doing now. Since her birth, I have been showing off my fraulein apo Minamaria, aka "M&M" or "MM."

Now that she’s almost four, every once in a while, she’ll say “My name is not M&M, it’s Mimi.” But if she’s in a good mood, she’ll even allow us to call her “Toinkatoink.” Hmmmm…what a name huh! Luis calls her that and I couldn’t remember why.

Hi Lil,

It's nice to see Zeny and her husband in your smilebox. I guess she was the photographer who took the pix.

Thanks for sharing your joy (through the pictures) during your get together there in the east coast.

Could you post your smilebox here in our website?

Mina

 Hi Mina and all,

I am intermittently studying how to upload picture, video in the photo gallery. Tryiny to use my break time from my other task.  It will be a trial, I had them in the administrator function at this point. Unfortunately, during loading it got frozen so I have to study further what's going on.

Dear Eden,

I also played with the "Gallery Creator" feature of our web site. I loaded 14 pictures. If you hit "Preview" beside the gallery title bearing my name, the pictures will automatically show in the homepage.

I did that to the six pictures that you loaded and it worked. However, I still couldn't get the background music to work. Kaunting laro pa siguro to figure it out.

So mga ka-klase, why not try this feature also and share with us your memorable pictures?

Hi Roger:

Ang po-pogi nila and they are all very good catches for any nice girl. Alam mo pareho kayo ni Hermie. Hanggang ngayon unmarried pa rin and dalawang binata at isang dalaga niya.

You really have a beautiful family. Julia Rose is a very pretty baby. Nakakaloko ang mga apo ano? I am with my fraulein apo till Thanksgiving and I am enjoying every minute with her. Hindi ako nagsasawang tingnan ang kanyang beautiful face and to listen to her never ending "daldal."

Take care and do extend my best regards to Josie and the children.

Dear Roger,

But my Pogi is a very lovable dog and I love him so.

I had goose bumps when I saw your guardian angel. Mabait kasi kayong mag-asawa kaya lalo kayong ina-alagaan ng angel ninyo. Ang gaganda lahat ng mga pix ninyo ni Josie (very sweet) and of course your pix with Gene, Joe and Momoy, and their spouses.

Could you please tag your family picture?

Thanks and God bless.
Mina

Rogelio Hidalgo

Thank you for your email, Mina.  Nakakaloko talaga ang mga apo! We used to take care of our grandchildren from Helen & Rolly when they were then babies.  But now they have grown already.  Josie picks up our youngest grandkid Julia Rose from daycare every afternoon when she gets out of the office and takes care of her at their place until our daughter Josephine and husband comes home from work.  Last night we took care of her again as they needed to attend a party.  We really need to help our children.  We would have moved to Boston if she accepted to do her training there 5 years ago. Wala akong magawa everynow and then hence I decided to post our pictures at our OCNHS website.

I do not know what is the matter with my sons - merong mga trabaho at ang gaganda ng mga girlfriends eh hindi pa mag-pakasal.  Puro lib-in.  Walang magpatuloy ng apelyido ko. Kaya my youngest daughter Josephine decided to keep her Hidalgo even if she is married already - she just hyphenated it.

Joe & Amy Delfin and Gerry & Alice Bianzon have been the perfect hosts when we saw them before when we drove to Chicago from St. Louis.  It has been the most wonderful moment to see them again after so many years.  They were filled with wit and humor and we cannot help but smile at ourselves as we reminisce the happenings of our highschool days - the crushes that never materialized.  Josie and I have been very happy to see Gene once again on his way to Hawaii from New Jersey.  We had dinner and had the conversation that could have lasted a lifetime.  He was still the same Gene we knew in high school with whom you can converse and will not be aware of time passing by as his discussions is highly intelligent and inspiring.  Thanks a lot Gene for coming over - the same to you all - Roger & Purie Huerto, Godo, Mina, Eden & Victor - seeing all of you have been one of the greatest pleasures of my life.

Sincerely -  Roger Hidalgo

Dear Roger and all,

That's precisely one of the reasons I'm here in Germany... to be with my daughter and her 14 year old son; and also to be with my granddaughter, Minamaria, aka M&M, when her Dad and Mom are in the hospital to deliver her baby brother, Levi Diomedes. They didn't holler for help, but Luis and I know that somehow my presence could help them a little bit.

Kung sabagay, we old school parents are now more understanding of the situations that our children choose. After all, sila naman ang makikisama sa kanilang magiging partners in life.

Isn’t it wonderful to be with classmates again after all those 50 years? Most of us are always looking forward to our class’s gatherings and lakwatsas. A little bird told me that there’s another road trip being planned next year – from north to south of the east coast.

LET US ALL TAKE CARE OF OUR HEALTH, SO THAT WE COULD CONTINUE ENJOYING OUR LIVES AND EACH OTHER… UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.

Fondly,
Mina
