Bill was so helpful for our 30th reunion in designing and printing our reunion book.  He was suffering from post polio syndrome at that time and used a cane.  It made me think of what may come with my husband and me who both had polio as kids, but we weren't showing any effects yet.  He was a very talented writer and was sorry to hear that he finally succumbed to his ailments.  I always thought he was very mature for his age when we were in school.  He's a talent that will be missed.

I knew Bill from as far back as Kindergaten,Monroe Jr. High and highschool. We went to the same Church. He was a great Guy. He was always very mature for his age. So sorry he lost his battle with polio.

Bill was such a good friend all through school...yes, I also knew him from Kindergarten on. I was thrilled when he "found me": somehow a number of years ago and we were able to email back and forth some for maybe a year before he became too ill. I so enjoyed getting back in touch and still grieve that his life had to be cut short. He was always so fun, so creative, and talented. Just found an article by him that was printed in the "Benson Sun" written by Shawn (a dog) "as told to Bill Boyer"! Sure wish he could be with us this weekend! In many ways, he will be....

I remember when Bill got sick with polio around second grade. He was in an iron lung for awhile.  My parents were friends with his parents and grandparents.  Everyone was so terribly worried about him.  In Sunday School I liked to debate various religious topics with him.  I was shocked to read that he is gone.  It's a shame.
