Wayne Glenn HOPKINS 1945 - 2019 Born in Duluth on February 7, 1945 Died January 26th, 2019 at the age of 73. He was a Physical Education and Health teacher in St Paul.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Amelia (nee Senarighi) and Wayne D. Hopkins, and his beloved wife, Connie Sue Hopkins. He is survived by his children, Kristin (son Joshua) Hopkins of St Paul, Jon (wife Loan, children Max and Rees) Hopkins of Shakopee, Angie (husband Chad, children Carly, Ryan and Mitchell) Neihart of East Bethel, and Sandy (Ben, son Alexander) Hopkins of Minneapolis; his siblings, Dave Hopkins, Alex Hopkins, Rosalie Maher and Robert Hopkins. Visitation FRIDAY from 4 - 8 pm at MUELLER MEMORIAL - White Bear Lake, 4738 Bald Eagle Blvd. At 3rd St., WBL with a service at 7 pm.

I had just received my teacher's certification and was subbing in the St. Paul District. At the 25th BHS '63 reunion I was talking to Wayne about starting teaching - that fall he requested me as a sub and I ended up subbing at his school on a regular basis. I repaid the favor by posting a couple of articles I had saved from the Benson Sun about Wayne's football prowess on the faculty bulletin board - eventually he forgave me.
