Jimmy Olson

Jimmy Olson

Excerpt from our Senior Yearbook:

"Jimmy became of the most popular boys in school, but he was different.  He was friendly to everyone no matter how much of a "geek" or "nerd" the other kids said they were.  He always had something to say to bring you up.  Jimmy made everyone laugh.  High school came quickly.  Jimmy became an even brighter star.  Then Jimmy didn't come to school anymore.  Weeks and weeks went by, and then we were notified that Jimmy had a cancerous tumor.  Everyone broke down and cried, but once all the tears were shed, we realized that there was hope.  HOPE was the key.  Then in the winter, Jimmy gave the news that he was planning to return in January.  January came and went, and Jimmy had not returned.

Jimmy was taken in and out of the hospital, and received chemotherapy and radiation therapy.  Gradually, Jimmy started to lose his hair. Jimmy had a good sense of humor, made a big joke of it and laughed.  That's just the way he was."
