Fritz Maher

 

ONEIDA -- Frederick G. "Fritz" Maher, 61, of 226 Farrier Ave., Oneida died Saturday evening June 30, 2012 in Rome Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Fritz was born on July 2, 1950 in Plymouth, Ind., the son of J. Garvin and Florence Barnes Maher. He came to Oneida in 1954 and had been a resident of the area ever since.

He was a graduate of Oneida High School class of 1969 and had attended Morrisville College.

Fritz proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge.  Surviving are his mother Florence of Ithaca; five sisters, Kathleen Kueffer of Ithaca, Veronica (Gil) Conley of Ithaca, Ann (Ted) Hanifin of Oneida, Polly Marion of Trumansburg and Joann Senecal of Groton; one brother Tony (Peg) Maher of Joplin, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father J. Garvin Maher on Feb. 10, 2011.

Fritz - I saw a program on radio wave antennae in Chile and a photo was shown, showing Many galaxies and ONE STAR... It must have been you waiting and plotting some "magical journey" for the rest of the class! We all miss you.
