Meyers, 71, of Mark Street, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021, in Oneida Health, after a lengthy illness. Born in Oneida on June 5, 1950, she was the daughter of John and Gertrude Lang Ward. A lifelong resident of the area, Sue was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1968. She married Danny Meyers Sr. in Oneida on September 1, 1979. Prior to her retirement, Sue was employed with GHI Health Insurance in their customer service department. Previously, she had been employed with Hershey’s Ice Cream for thirteen years and in her younger days, with WMCR as a DJ. She was a member of the Owls Club, Oneida Nest #1606 and the American Legion, Oneida Post #169. Sue enjoyed attending NASCAR races with her husband, was an avid bingo player and loved to read books. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oneida. Surviving besides her loving husband Danny Sr. are: one son, Craig Babcock of Oneida; two step-children, Dan (Kristi) Meyers Jr. of Wampsville and Kristina (Frank) Zenon of Long Island; three grandchildren, Cole, Kade and Calen Meyers; two brothers, Gary Ward of Rome and Ronnie (Tina) Ward of Canastota; sister-in-law, Bonnie Bartlett of Oneida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Karen Ward Busa on February 25, 2008 and a brother, Kevin J. Ward on August 7, 2003. Funeral services will be held 6PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4-6PM, prior to the funeral service. Contributions may be made to the Verona Volunteer Fire Department.
