Passed away August 11, 2006. Former employee of The Hartford Ins. Co. Survivors - Longtime champion, James Strickland Sr.; Sons, Thomas Vecchio Jr. and Scott Vecchio both of Syracuse; two grandchildren. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
I don't remember much about Sandy in high school but I have very fond memories of her at Wampsville Elementary! She was such a sunny child and had lovely blond hair like my sister Maureen. Kathi Noto Rowe
Sandy and I used to send birthday cards to each other. Not only did we share the same day, but our mothers were in the same hospital room. We both married Canastota guys and each had two sons. I lost track of her when she moved to Syracuse.
Sandy and I were also friends from the Wampsville days and beyond. I used to visit her after her boys were born and we would watch soap operas in the afternoon together. She was such a good kid.
Sandy and I became good friends after HighSchool. She and her husband Tom actually lived around the corner from a little groucery store I worked in Canastota. She and Tom were newly weds and lived above his parents little store for a while. I still remember Tom's parents little store and was in awe when I saw them make real Italian sausage.
Sandy and I would eat lunch together and have great times. I think she was one of the sweetest girls I knew! Very humble and such fun! I will continue to have fond memories of Sandy!
