MARY WHITE OBITUARY      

MUNNSVILLE-Mary A. White, 71, until recently, a life resident of Oneida, passed away peacefully with the love and support of her family, at her side on early Thursday morning, September 29, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital.She was born in Oneida, on November 14, 1950, the daughter of the late Charles “Pete” and Ruth VanSlyke. Mary was raised in Oneida and was a graduate of Oneida High School. She had made a life-long career working for the Oneida City School District. She had been a teacher’s aide/librarian. At the time of her retirement, she had a career that spanned 40 years with the school system. Mary had a love and a deep commitment to the children of the elementary schools where she worked. She had made life-long friends at the school and was always there with her caring nature. Mary made her life “simple” by keeping what was the most important close to her: her sons, her grandchildren; her family and her pet grand fur baby, Joplin. Mary enjoyed life, by following her rule of “keeping it simple.” She will be deeply missed by all the loved her.Mary is survived by her two sons, Stan White and his fiancée, Christina Chapin, and Matthew White all of Munnsville; her grandchildren Brock White and BayLee White; her sister JoAnn (Harry) VanSlyke Burritt, of Michigan, her brother Mark(Cori) VanSlyke of Cape Coral, FL; and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her parents Pete and Ruth.There will be a visitation for Mary on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the Coolican-McSweeney & Paul Funeral Home, 322 Washington Avenue, Oneida.
