Bennie lost his life in a car accident at the intersection of 27th Avenue and 167th Street, several months after graduation in 1970. He was 19. (I have the article from the Herald in my yearbook)

I had heard that our Ben had been killed in an auto accident, some years ago, tho not confirmed to me. Thank you for doing that, finally. He sat in front of me in History, always turning around to acknowlege me. He was always interested in how things were, that's the kind of guy he was. We had alot of great laughs, he and our small circle of friends. When I heard of his untimely death, it brought to mind, at how unfair it all was. He had an exitement of what the future would bring, and I felt he could do it all. One of our own we can't ever forget. i for one, never have.

I had heard that Ben had been killed in an accident after I left for the Marines.  He was a good friend that made my life better from having known him.
