Graytown Driver, Killed in Crash - Victim Is Pinned In Car 45 Minutes

Charles L. Bucher, 31, of RD 1, Graytown, was killed early today when his car collided with a tractor-trailer rig on State Rt. 2 near Teachout Road, just west of Bono.

State highway patrolmen said Mr. Bucher pulled onto Route 2 from the drive of the Peek-A-Boo Lounge at 12:30 a.m. The truck, drIven by Leo Nadik, 30, of Imperial, Pa., struck the driver's side of the Bucher car and pinned Mr. Bucher in the car for 45 minutes. He was pronounced dead at St Charles Hospital. He died of multiple injuries. Mr: Nadik was not injured.

Mr. Bucher was an employee of The Turner Brothers Haymill and G. Meinke Fisheries, both of Curtice.

Mr. Bucher was involved in a fatal automobile accident in 1966, in which Joseph Burrus, 74, of 3047 Maeterlink Ave., a passenger in a second car, died. The accident occurred at the intersection of Corduroy and Yondota Roads. Mr. Bucher's license was suspended three months and he was fined $200, with the fine suspended.

Surviving are Mr. Bucher's father, Robin Bucher, Sr.; brothers, Danny, Ted, Larry, Harry, Raymond, Howard, and Robin, Jr.; sisters, Mrs. Norma Armstrong. Mrs. Nadine Reinhart, Mrs. Betty Sciple, Mrs. Donna Jess, and Mrs. Sharon Ilammitt, and grandmother, Mrs. Clara Foote.

The body will be in the Oestreich Mortuary, until noon Thursday when it will be taken to St Peter Lutheran Church, Blackberry Corners, for services at  2 p.m.   Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, near Curtice.
