Gary Francis was born in October of 1950, eldest son of seven children of Gerald & Zella Francis.  He graduated from Osage High School in 1969 and worked assorted jobs: Winnebago, working for various farmers, Bridge Construction under Duey Counsell, and then Road Maintainer & Excavator for Mitchell County for 28 years. He had sheep for thirty years and other second & third jobs.

Gary is survived by his adoring wife, children & grandchildren: Barb, Travis & Kristin Francis, Zachary, Tyler, Landon; Taryn & Brett Hobson, Aiden, Makenzy, Ashton, & Mia.  Preceded in death by two brothers, Jim & David, and his father.

Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, following the Iowa Hawkeyes, traveling, motorcycling, raising sheep, gardening & flowers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Church of Christ on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 for a 6:00 pm church service with a light reception following.  Iowa Hawkeye theme, so feel free to come casual, dressed in black & gold.
