OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Lynn Harold Meinders, 19, who was killed in a one-car accident on November 15, 1970 three miles north of Osage on highway 218 early Sunday morning, have been set for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church here and at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dumont reform Church in Dumont. Burial will be in the Dumont Cemetery with the Champion Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, assisted by the Voel Funeral Home of Dumont.

Meinders was driving south when he may have dozed at the wheel and the car crossed the highway and crashed into a cement abutment, authorities said, he was killed instantly.

A passenger, Arella Felper, 20, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Felper of Riceville, and a student at Rochester Junior College in Rochester, Minnesota, was listed in serious condition at the hospital here with severe arm, leg and internal injuries.

Another passenger, Robert Fiser, 19, of Floyd, was treated at the hospital for minor facial cuts and a broken nose and released. He was re-admitted Sunday for X-rays and possible shock.

Meinders was born at Hampton on October 14, 1951 and attended schools at Dumont and Hampton and moved to Osage three years ago, graduating from Osage High School in 1969. He attend North Iowa Area Community College at Mason City last year and was employed as a welder at Mid-Equipment Co. in Mason City.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meinders; two brothers, Keith and Steven at home; four sisters, Marsha, Verla, and Mari Kae, all at home, and Mrs. Larry Estal of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinders of Dumont and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kuper of Osage, and his great grandfather, B. H. Aukes of Aplington.

Lynn...you've been gone so long but still miss that smile. I remember the year after we graduated and you came to Mason City to visit Peg and I. You missed those Osage girls. ha
