I'm Steve's stepson Dave Dodge.  Steve married my mother Rheta Dodge in 1983 (see photo below) and I became very close to him. I received your invitation for Steve to attend your class reunion. I'm writing to regrettably inform you that Steve passed away in September and was interned in Helena Montana at Fort Harrison with full military honors from the Marine Corps.  He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972 and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. He was primarily a radio operator during the war and was a P.O.W. on his second tour after reenlisting from his first tour ended in which he was drafted. Although he had numerous health problems from being in the Vietnam War, he lived a good but fairly modest life. He passed away from complications from a heart surgery after years of battling Vietnam related health issues. He took great pride in being a Marine and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
