Reunion history

5 years - August 12, 1988

The five year reunion was called by Senior Class President Karen Zimmer for the International Market Square. Once a committee chaired by Margo Coughlin began planning, they decided a change a venue and format were in order. The reunion was held on Friday, August 12, 1988 at the Northwest Inn in Brooklyn Park. Dinner consisted of a buffet, and entertainment was provided by a disc jockey. The highlight of the evening was a power outage which left the neighborhood, including the class of '83 in its windowless basement ballroom, in the dark for more than an hour. Others on the committee were Troy Kvam, Linda Muehlbauer, Jane Witting, and Nancy Schmolke.

10 years - August 28, 1993

A committee chaired by Tony Hill scheduled the 10 year reunion. It was supposed to be in the new Terrace Club in the Metropolitan Centre in downtown Minneapolis, although the class was left stranded when that facility went unbuilt. Fortunately, a cancellation at the nearby Marquette Hotel meant no change of date was necessary. About 200 people attended. Dinner was served this time, and entertainment was provided by a disc jockey and cocktail pianist Les Block. A class picnic was held the next day at Boom Island, although turnout was light. (Read: nobody showed.) Others on the committee were Anne Boser, Linda Muehlbauer, Margo Coughlin, and Kelly Oxenford.

15 years - September 19, 1998

The 15 year reunion was fraught with many difficulties. Lack of coordination between co-chairs Tony Hill and Anne Boser and uncertainty about how much money should be spent on a location led the committee to cancel a reunion which was tentatively set for September 12 at the Osseo American Legion. The committee decided on a last-minute push for a small, informal reunion at the Richfield American Legion. About 80 people turned out in a violent thunderstorm. Entertainment was provided by a boom box. No food was served, although the bar did brisk business. Others on the committee included Kim Bassett, Margo Coughlin, Arlee Elmore, and Jane Witting.

20 years - August 9, 2003

This reunion committee was chaired by Kim Bassett, and the reunion was held at Metropolitan in Golden Valley.

25 years - August 15, 2008

This reunion committee was co-chaired by Kim Bassett and Todd Erickson.  Miriam Hecksel, and Deborah Palm were also on the committee. The reunion was held at Edinborough Country Club in Brooklyn Park.
