Susan “Sue” M. Kniss, 49 of Park Rapids, MN died on Friday, January 24, 2014 at her home.

Susan Michelle Lindblom was born on October 21, 1964 in Minneapolis, MN to Robert M. and Janice M (Fiebelkorn) Lindblom. She grew up in the Twin Cities and attended school in Osseo, where she graduated in 1983. She was united in marriage to Jeffrey M. Kniss on October 15, 1988 in Maple Grove, MN. They moved to Park Rapids in 1988, where they have lived since, and raised their four children. Until she had children, she worked as a waitress at the Great Northern Café and the Schwartzwald restaurant in Park Rapids. Since 2007 she has raised produce to sell at the local Farmer’s Market. She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, taught release time classes and Sunday School, and for 10 years was a Girl Scout Leader.

Sue enjoyed gardening, camping, reading, cooking, bird watching, and traveling in MN. She can be described as a caring, loving, supportive, compassionate person, with a strong faith. She was a great mentor to her friends and family, and she was a proud mother and wife. Favorite family activities included Sunday drives, shopping trips, cooking and baking together, movie nights, wildlife adventures, and berry picking. She is survived by her husband – Jeffrey M. Kniss of Park Rapids, MN; her four children – Sara Kniss; Amy Kniss; Kyle Kniss; Heather Kniss; and her grandson – Kaden Boyd all of Park Rapids, MN; her sister- Candace Lindblom of Maple Grove, MN; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 4 until 7pm at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will also be held for 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Friday Arrangements are being handled by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids, MN.
