Doug was a very special person who I will have fond memories of forever. He was in a fatal car accident in 1990 coming home from a rodeo (in Wyoming, I think). He and Mike Zimmerman were both killed. It was so sad to lose such a wonderful friend.
Doug was one of my best friends. I have many fond memories/stories from fifth grade through college...football, baseball, fishing, and road trips to the Missouri State Fair to see Willie live. Doug loved his huge dogs Diamond and Bandit. He did a hilarious impression of my Dad as "Coach Taylor". I miss Doug and to this day think of him often.
Doug was such a good guy. Always a smile on his face, even during grueling practice sessions. I remember how excited he was to be doing the rodeo circuit with Mike Zimmerman and take comfort that he died doing what he loved. Forever Young.
