So sorry to hear of Janice's passing. The Parker family lived across the street from our house on Melrose Drive. We jump-roped, worked on school projects together, played baseball (she was a good ball player) and touch football with the neighborhood guys. We were known as the "Jackson Street Gang", because we had a bunch of BEAVERS at our school bus stop! Janice & I loved going over to Dennis "Pepe" Palmer's house, in the winter, to go sledding. We would stay outside, in the cold, until we couldn't stand it and when it was time to go home to get warm--we took our pants off and you could actually stand them in the corner of the room because they were frozen! We were young and didn't care. We were haveing FUN! Janice was fun to be around AND she was competitive!
I really thought highly of her, when she joined the US Army. I remembered that one of her favorite rock songs was "Can't Explain" by the Who. Everytime I hear that tune, I think of Janice....and now maybe you will too! Rest in God's peace Janice and say hi to Pepe! Linda Molnar McAdams
I, too, was so surprised to hear about Janice passing. She was a great friend. We played ball on Union Sand all the years we could, we attended Sunday School and she surely had such a vibrant personality. She and I enlisted together and had an incredible basic training experience. After that, we lost touch and I always wondered about her. Such wonderful words posted here, a great woman who impacted many in her life.
Janice was definitely one of my besties. I lived in the next neighborhood from her so we even hung out in the summers. During school we were hooked at the hip. Her favorite story to tell was when we had basketball during gym class in junior high. She and I got paired up for a jump ball. I figured this would be an easy one with her being so much shorter than me. I was wrong. She out jumped me by a mile. That was Janice. Always giving her best and most of the time coming in first. Will miss you.❤️

So many memories over the years, beginning with cheering together, classes, "helping" Terry with dating tips, clothes shopping at Bobbie Brooks in Cleveland, fundraisers, lunchtime sales for spirit ribbons and Thursday afternoons painting Beavers for the games and banners to decorate the halls.Even after graduation, whenever she was in town, we met up with all our kids, before reunions and visits home after her parents got older.
I know she wanted to come to the 50th in 2020 because I spoke with her the summer prior when we were out west--even told her she had a bedroom waiting.I called her again later and even emailed her but no reply.Best intentions were to try again for this year, and then we got the returned card for the reunion.
She was one of the classiest ladies I ever knew. Her friendship was special and her wonderful personality radiated to everyone around her.Rest in peace my friend, you will be sorely missed.

I was so sorry to hear of this. Janice was one of those people you could not help but like, always smiling and always with an encouraging word.
I always thought she would go on to run a company somewhere and she got close, being a CFO.
I will miss seeing her at the reunion.
