Tammey Patton was my best friend from third grade until she died. She died when she was only 30 years old. It was shocking news. Her former boy-friend at that time shot and killed her and then killed him-self. I still miss her. She died in 1988.
I was chatting with Janice Williams-Deseranno and we were talking about our dear friend Tammy Patton and how we lost a good friend. This is how I remember the story surrounding her early passing, if I recall correctly it was in October of 1987 a may be off a year It was along time ago but I will never forget Tammy she was a beautiful person with such a sweet soul.
If anybody else remembers Tammy would love to hear your story.
This is how I remember it;
It was so horrible day and we all lost a beautiful person. It was so long ago, I know at the time I was living in La Quinta and was getting divorced and her and Dale were getting divorced. Her Dale and my Dave were living together. I think she was living in apt or duplex in Cat City with that murdering SOB. I think she was working at Vons at the PS Mall. I guess she tried to break it off with him got a order of protection the day it happened we were all at a birthday party for a friends little girl and I guess he ambushed her when she got home. I believe she saw the gun and talked him into going outside away from her daughter Leslie and he shot her and then himself. I think that's how it went.... gosh it brings back terrible memories. So sad and tragic. I think Leslie was about 5 or 6 at the time.
