Sorry to see this. I had a sweet conversation with Skip at the reunion picnic last year about our mutual friend (and Skip's neighbor) Roger Porterfield. Two really good guys.

My husband and I were lucky enough to be invited to Skip's beautiful home in the Los Gatos hills for a casual mini reunion of a few friends years ago.  Skip was a very talented photographer.  I don't think he realized how good he was as his work reflected a true talent.

Sorry to hear the news about Skip Light.  My memories of Skip actually go back to early middle school when during the summers we would play "Indian Ball" over at Garland Elementary until the games were closed out only when there was no more light left to play.  Roger Porterfield was also part of that group, and I remember as well listening as a group to some of the first Giants games that were played in San Francisco - must have been 1957-8.  We had so much fun playing the game we loved - those days of innocence seem like a dream now, was it?  Rest in peace, Skip.

My friendship with Skip centered around the youth group at the First Methodist Church.  Skip was the president (or similar title) during our senior year and led our meetings group each Sunday night, always with  clear direction, appropriately serious countenance, and, of course, that small smile that let you know he loved being with you and was stifling a giggle inside.  He was a good friend to me and an inspiration too.

I have the same happy memories of playing Indian ball with Skip, Roger, Michael and others over at Garland Elementary school.....those were junior high school days.  Skip was a solid reliable friend.
