Kenny was a very talented, enterprising and artistic young man, who had potential for a great future. Unfortunately, he traveled the road of drugs and alcohol, which eventually ended his life at the young age of 39. He was once a bright and shining star, who burned out much too fast. He is survived by me, Judy Royer and our two sons: Darren, 48, a talented Bay Area theatre actor; and Sean, 44, a 24 year C.H.P officer in Redding. We remember him with much love and sadness.
This is sad to read, Judi. It must have been a difficult time for you and your children. I remember Kenny well, always the "bad boy" attitude, although that never seemed his true nature.
My only memories of Kenny are from grade school actually. What I remember about him is that he was building a go-cart and I happened to be over at his house - I think on Northhampton - and I tagged along as we visited various merchants who he charmingly talked into "donating" various components for his speed machine. I was impressed. I'm sorry I never got to know him better - I'm sure he was a great guy.
Ken and I built GoKarts together and took them out to various parking lots to test them out. It was amazing how we scrounged old parts and powered them with lawn mower engines. Always a challenge to keep them running,
I am sorry to hear only now of his passing, he was a good friend!
