Margery Wilson Wold passed away on April 10 [2006]. She devoted much of her adult life to education and children's vision development. She worked as a volunteer teacher's aid for more than 30 years. She married Robert Wold, O.D. '64, who preceded her in death. She derived great pleasure from her associations with various service organizations in Chula Vista, Calif., including serving as secretary of the San Diego County Optometric Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, granddaughter, father, sister, and three brothers.

Marge and I were best friends since kindergarten.  I have so many memories of what we did together and for each other. One day Marge wanted a haircut and her Mom said no, so we wnet up to her room and did it ourselves.  I think we were in 7th or 8th grade.  I turned out good, but her Mom was not to happy.

Another memory I have is taking a "Senior Weekend" and taking the train up to Oregon to check out the colleges up there.  What fun and what an experience!  Neither of us had done anything like that before.

I was with Marge the night before she passed away.  Her daughter had called me to say that her Mom wanted to see me.  My husband and I drove over to Chula Vista.  I was able to spend some quiet time with her. Marges' daughter told me that her Mom waited to see me so she could with me a Happy Birthday, which was 3 days after her death.  It was not a very happy time losing your best friend.

Maarge you are still in my thoughts and I know you are in a better place now.  RIP

Joyce
