Daniel J. Berkson, a former Mountain View resident, died July 1 of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was 38.
A native of Hagerstown, Md., he graduated from Palo Alto High School and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and other degrees from Santa Clara University. He had lived in the Portland, Ore., area since 1991 and worked for Emery Worldwide and Consolidated Freight Co.'s air freight division.
Mr. Berkson is survived by his wife, Juliann Berkson; son, Randy Berkson of Portland; father, Jacob Berkson of Hagerstown; mother, Ann Abrams of Los Altos; and siblings, James of Aurora, Ore., and Susan of Rockville, Md.
Funeral services were held under the direction of Holman's Funeral Service in Landau Chapel at Beth Israel Cemetery in Portland.
The family prefers donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
