Tommy Youngs, where do I start! Tommy is one of my dearest and oldest friends. We go back to third grade together. I will never forget my first Birthday when we moved to Palo Alto. My dear mother invited all the guys from my class and it was a humdinger of a party. We had this front porch and Tommy decided it would be fun to jump off it through the big opening in front, well this went on for quite awhile with us all doing the same which was a bit too much for the adults so at one point I think my aunt or maybe my mom said to Tommy if you can't calm down I need you to call your parents to come get yopu. Tommy's reply was I am not leaving till 4pm cause thats what the invite says, ending time 4pm :) My mom loved Tommy all the same and she often told that story.

Tommy Story number two. Tommy was always a handful but he had such a big heart. I spent most of my early years 3rd to eight grade hanging at Tommy's house when I was not at mine. We had so much fun. Tommy had this Great big dog named Ticket, ticket was won in a raffel hence his name. He was so big we used to ride him around the house. One time Tommy and I watched The movie The Great Escape, it was so cool that we decided we were going to build a tunnel like in the movie too. We dug a hole (Shaft) in one corner of his backyard, we fashioned a wood tripod over the hole with a pulley and an army helmet attached to a rope that we used to cart the dirt up with. Well we were going to tunnel across the full length of his back yard and come up the other side. We got down the first hole maybe 6 feet down and started to tunnel over about another 4 to six feet across before I think Tommy's mom figured out what we were doing. Thats when our operation ceased after she got Jack (Tommy's dad) to give us hell for it. Crazy kids huh, so dangerous. Anyway Tommy's folks were like my other parents. They were great people and really put up with a lot.

I could tell Tommy stories till the cows come home, but I want to just say this. When we had our twentieth reunion picnic, Tommy was the unsung hero of that day! Tommy took it upon himself to do almost all the BBQ for everybody, he cooked and cooked all day. Tommy may have had his troubles but he always had a huge heart. I will always miss Tommy. Cheers my brother :)

Memories of the parties at your place and watching SNL will always stay with me. Thanks for the laughs, Tommy. May you rest in peace.

Met Tommy at your house Darryl at one of those parites you had when your parents wern't home.  Spent lots of time with Tommy hanging out mostly at his house or at "The Foam Factory" where he worked in downtown Palo Alto.  One of his passions was playing the guitar. I am glad I had an opportunity to know him.

OMG! How could I forget about the foam factory!?! Not your typical job which was perfect for Tommy. He was a hoot! I remember one Halloween he went as a can of Coors made out of...you guessed it...foam!

I remember that costume Darryl! We used to get high at the house of foam and crash out for a bit on the racks...very comfy.
