   To:  All Classmates

From: Butch Crossland

Greetings from your duly appointed/elected or “willingly railroaded” Chairman of our upcoming “50th HS Reunion”.

On behalf of the entire PHS Class of ’62, let me congratulate and thank Chairman David Tripplehorn and his outstanding 48th Reunion Committee for such a wonderful and special event they put together in Pampa last September.  So lots of thanks go out to Mary “Kay” Bailey,  Sue Maxey, Jeane Pierce, Carol Jean Wilson, Sandra Denton, Ray D. White and others of whom I am not aware.

It all started with Friday Night’s cocktail party at “Dolly’s” where we mixed, mingled and occasionally screamed at a Classmate not seen or heard from for years.  I, for one, thought everyone looked good!   Also, it was great to see some of our old teachers---Ronald Rice, Bill Haynes, Howard Graham, Coach Woldt as well as Mr. And Mrs. Trego who made the trip from Florida.  (Don’t forget that our PHS Band was nationally renowned.)

Then we retreated to the bar room and watched that “flash back slide show”.   A big thanks to Jeane Pierce for all her efforts in producing, supervising and distributing a CD portraying a memorable “still life portrait” of the Class of ‘62.  All classmates will be able to keep this special gift in their library of memories.

Saturday morning's tour of the remodeled and expanded facilities at "dear old PHS was inspiring and nostalgic.  The old majestic building has stood the test of time both architecturally and structurally.  With all the changes, it was still easy to remember oneself there.

Most of us took a drive past the old home place and some of our old haunts….Coney Island was on many a list….unfortunately Caldwells is long gone.

Saturday Night was just as eventful.  We were all moved by the “Scottish Bagpipe Tribute” to our deceased classmates.  Our MC, John Yates, masterfully guided us through the night with his wit and humor.  Great job John!!  Then, we were treated to a guest appearance by Mary “Kay” Bailey and her “back up group” of Sandra Denton, Judy Buckingham and Sue Maxey with their rendition of Patsy Cline’s “She’s got You”.  It was and will forever be unforgettable!!

Of course, the best part was seeing, visiting and reacquanting with "old classmates"!!!

So, David…to you, your Committee and legion of volunteers, congratulations for a job well done and thanks for the memories from the Class of ’62 !!
