 THE PARAISO HIGH SCHOOL OF 1968 CELEBRATED THEIR 60TH BIRTHDAY FOR ALL IN NEW YORK SEPTEMBER 5TH 2009 - THESE ARE A FEW CAPTIONS OF THAT BIRTHDAY REUNION (THANKS TO EDDIE CLARK FOR THESE GREAT PHOTOS)

REUNION CANCELLED AS PER CARMELA GOBERN E-MAIL RECEIVED 1/30/13:

Dear Classmates:
 
As of January 28, 2013, we have only received downpayments from 8 overseas classmates (and their spouses) from a total of 83 participants (including family members) who have initially indicated an interest.
 
This coming Friday, February 1, will make it 3 months that most classmates are behind with the first deadline of November 1. No explanations, excuses nor apologies received.
 
  • Due to the demand that it takes to make this reunion a success
  • the pressure we are receiving from the two venues to confirm downpayments
  • the time approaching to complete plans (the reunion is scheduled to be held in 6 months)
  • the poor communication
  • the unresponsive attitude (no responses to emails)
  • and the lack of financial commitments from overseas classmates...
After analyzing all of the above reasons, the Panama Committee has made the firm decision to cancel all reunion plans. We are sorry, apologize for the inconvenience and regret having to do this because we were genuinely looking forward to a wonderful celebration. While we know that a few of you were not satisfied with what we were offering, we were planning to make it as enjoyable and as unique as possible.
 
The minimal downpayments received will be returned to Eddie Clark via Moneygram later this week by our treasurer Ana Todd-Catón.

There is a new schedule for our 45th anniversary reunion.
 
The folkloric show at the Marriot Hotel on the 25th of July has been cancelled from the plans.
 
The schedule will take place as originally planned and with the additional activities and the reunion will run from July 26 until August 3. 2013.
 
We will send out the updates in the March Keeping in Touch.
 
We do apologize for the inconveniences. We are moving forward with the plans as scheduled and we are looking forward to seeing all of you are are able to come.
