Lee Monroe McDonald, 47, of Paris, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Trinity-Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Lee, the son of Forrest “Sonny – Mack” & Linda McDonald of Blossom and Earnestine Bonner McDonald of Paris, was born June 1, 1963. He graduated from North Lamar High School in 1981. After graduation he enjoyed racing cars. He was a past Board of Director for the Paris Rodeo and Horse Club, was a member of the Future Farmers of America and was a Certified Texas Purchaser. Lee was a volunteer for the Lamar County Humane Association and Keep Paris Beautiful Projects. He loved fishing and camping and after rebuilding a 1946 Willis Jeep, climbing hills with his friends and working in the yard. He loved and cared for his animal companions, Gizzie, Willie, Precious and Lacie.

Survivors include his wife, Mille McDonald, whom he married on June 13, 1992, a step-daughter, Terri Grace, grandson, Kevin Porterfield, granddaughter, Ashley Merritt, great granddaughter, Matalynn Porterfield, great grandson, Hayden Townsend, his parents, a brother, Jeff McDonald and nephew Colton, sisters, Lisa Adamson & husband Wes and nephews Dustin White & his son Layton, and Eric White, Leslie James & husband Ken and nieces Courtney, Conley and Chelsey Ballard, aunts & uncles, Joyce & Roy Crow of Longview, Fay Walton of Benson, AZ and C. E. & Joan Bonner of Oak View, CA, his in-laws, Ruby Stevens, Juanita McMillan, Bobby Hall, Evelyn and John Lowrance, and Mary & Charles Ferguson, along with many cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, John Monroe & Sena Bell Newsom McDonald and Elmer & Lula Murray Bonner.
Lee was forever grateful to the family that donated their son’s kidney and pancreas to him in 1999.

Honorary bearers will be: John Lowrance, Charles Ferguson, Wes Adamson, Ken James, Eric White, Dustin White, and Neal Perry.
