CAROL COOPER THOMPSON
Pasco, Wash.
Carol Jean Cooper Thompson, 50, passed away January 13, at home with her family in Pasco.
Carol was born in Pasco to O.D. Cooper and Barbara Corby on Feb 26, 1953.
She attended school at Emerson Elementary, Stevens Junior High, and Pasco High School.
After graduating, she spent a few years traveling, staying for short times in Kansas City,
Fort Lauderdale, and Spokane, where she met her first
husband Tom Goodall.
They lived in the Tri-Cities and had three daughters, Tasha (1976), Amy and Amber (1979).
She was remarried in 1981 to Marc Thompson. They raised the girls together for 12 years, living in Kennewick except for 2 years when they both worked at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
In 1995, Carol found true love with Mick Mirus, a childhood friend.
They enjoyed camping, boating, and skiing. Together they took trips to ski resorts all over the Northwest and traveled to many other places, including Hawaii and Mexico.
Carol was an active member of the Desert Ski Club. She made many friends through this group and really loved the many social gatherings and trips she took with them.
Carol had an especially close relationship with her three daughters. She was both a loving mother and a good friend. Her grace, optimism, and kindness, particularly during her long illness, will be an example to them always.
She is survived by Mick Mirus; her daughters, Tasha, Amy and Amber Goodall, her parents, Barbara Corby, and O.D. and Grace Cooper, her siblings, Gary and Susan Cooper and Richard and Carmella Cooper, and their families.
She was proceeded in death by her brother, Ronnie Cooper.
As per Carol's request, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donations in her honor to the cancer organization of your choice.
