In Memory

Jeanette Maraia (Siniscalchi)

Jeanette Maraia (Siniscalchi)

I received notification today that Jeanette has a birthday coming up. I thought I had heard she passed away but hadn't posted. I did a search and yes, sadly she did pass away. She and Dominick came to our reunion in 2014 and they had a fantastic time. That is how I will rember her along with their love for one another while we were still in high school. May she Rest In Peace and May her family find comfort in their memories of her.

TROUT CREEK - It is with great sadness that we announce that Jeanette R. Siniscalchi, 70, passed away on Jan. 18, 2022, because of complications from the COVID-19 virus.
She is survived by her mother, Rita Maraia; brother, Gary; sister, Susan; husband, Dominick; three children, Assunta, Gerardo, and Bernadette; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Maraia.
Jeanette was born on June 23, 1951, to Joseph and Rita Maraia in Mount Vernon.
After graduating from Peekskill High School in 1969, she married her high school sweetheart and friend, Dominick Siniscalchi.
Jeanette then became the vice president and secretary of the family business, Siniscalchi Masonry Inc. in 1970. Jeanette and Dominick would have been married for 53 years as of August 2022.
Jeanette was selfless, humble and very passionate about her family. Her love for her heritage and family was the cornerstone of her life. She was also active in the community and participated in many organizations. She was part of the Trout Creek Ladies Auxiliary, Trout Creek Fire & EMS and most recently held the position of secretary of the Town of Tompkins Fire District. Jeanette was also an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Some of the things Jeanette loved and cherished were, sandy beaches, visiting Virginia and the Chincoteague ponies, sunflowers, visits to California and winery hopping with her husband but most of all spending quality time with all of her family.
May her faithful soul through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
