I received a message today from Bob Polhill that Joe McGee recently passed away. I found the obituary and am posting it. May Joe rest eternally in peace.
Joseph Robert McGee, Jr. of Pawling, NY passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Danbury, CT; he was 65.
Born in Peekskill, NY on September 25, 1952, he was the son of the late Joseph R. McGee, Sr. and Sara (Barthelmes) McGee of Stuart, FL. He married Paula Olsen on June 30, 1984, and moved to Pawling from Lincolndale in 1986.
Joe was an EMT for 25 years working for the Pawling Rescue Squad and Transcare Ambulance.
He was a coach for over 32 years, coaching Little League and baseball at John Jay in Cross River, and was inducted into the John Jay Hall of Fame. He also taught physical education at the North Salem School District for 37 years.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his two sons, Shaun, and his wife, Lisa, of Stormville, and Brady of Pawling, and his daughter, Breanna, and her fiancé, Bryant Smith, of Boston.
There will be a Celebration of Life service for Joe on June 16th at 1 PM at the home his son Shaun.
