Jo-Ann Sowden, 66, a longtime resident of Peekskill, passed away on January 3, 2017 with her mother by her side. Born on April 29, 1950 in Poughkeepsie, NY, to William & Edith I. (nee Brown) Sowden. Jo-Ann was a graduate of Peekskill High School, Class of 1968. She worked for 13-years for the County of Westchester in White Plains, retiring in 1998 as a senior technician. She was a member of the Peekskill Presbyterian Church; she was an avid reader and enjoyed music. Her mother, Edith Sowden survives her, and her father, William Sowden predeceased her on January 4, 2011. She is also survived by several her cousins, Jeri Glosque, Paul Schmittman, Carol Wilson, and several other cousins. Family and Friends will gather on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 10-11am at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, where a Funeral Service will be held 11am. Interment will be private at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
