Pinball at Lew's, miniature golf across the street, then Burger Chef. Who could ask for anything more?

Yep, we had a great neighborhood with lots of stuff to keep busy. Living on the other side of the Boulevard, I played most of my pinball at Polin's Luncheonette on Mebus Street. Played some at Lew's, too.

Memories, memories, memories.....being from the east side of blvd, we had this tiny store between whitaker and blvd. on F st. I think it was called Bill's. there was small grocery stuff like tastykakes and real 5c candy bars. In the back were 2 pinball machines and there were more watchers than players. It was a nickel a game and I think 6 for a quarter and to play next you put you quarter on the glass for everyone to see you were next player. went to Lew Siegal's for fountain cherry coke some pinball...Lew always thought someone was stealing something....He might have been right...lol and then the first fast food to hit the neighborhood Burger Chef . 15 cent hambergers, fries and shakes for a total of .50? not too sure of price.

Lew's had great fountain sodas, tastycakes & a good selection of comic books. I also remember him being able to fix tickets. Crossed the blvd. to visit friends & to buy my first pack of cigarettes (at the store Phil mentioned) since I was fairly sure my mom never shopped there.
