Alan is survived by his wife of 33 years Leslie Peterso and his sons David and Adam.

Dr. Belson was a graduate of UPENN and held a VMD degree. He also completed two residency programs in Veterinary Pathology at The Animal Medical Center, NY, NY, and Angel Memorial Animal Hospital, Boston, MA.

Dr. Belson worked as a Veterinary Pathologist for the NJ State Department of Agriculture, the Bronx Zoo and various research organizations. He enjoyed hiking, stamp collecting, the opera, ballet and volunteering for Holy Name Hospital and Recording for the Blind. Dr. Belson was known for his dry sense of humor and his warm generous spirit.
